A Touch of Japanese Tradition, Made for Today
Rooted in Japanese tradition, this distinctive ramie pouch brings a thoughtful touch to the way you organize your everyday essentials. With its envelope-like shape, natural woven texture, and traditional Sanada-himo cord closure, it offers a refreshing alternative to an ordinary zippered pouch.
Originally designed to hold a goshuincho, a book used to collect calligraphy and stamps from Japanese temples and shrines, the pouch has a cultural story behind its unique design. The decorative Sanada-himo cord adds a lovely accent, while the simple act of wrapping and unwrapping it becomes part of the pleasure of using it.
Made from 100% ramie fabric, the pouch has a naturally crisp texture and subtle variations in its weave that give each piece its own character. A cotton lining and interior pocket add practical details to its traditional design.
Today, there's no need to limit it to a stamp book. Use it to keep charging cables, pens, a passport, a small notebook, or other personal essentials neatly together. Its slim shape slips easily into a larger bag, while its distinctive design makes it just as lovely to keep on your desk or shelf.
Available in Red, Natural, Navy, Blue, Green, and Black.
Made in Nara, Japan, by Mafu Okai, a textile maker carrying on the region's traditional weaving heritage since 1863.
